"The Movies and other things"
Written by John D. Randall - November 7th, 2005

First up we should talk about going to the movies.

Were you lucky enough to already see the new film "Chicken Little" in Disney Digital 3-D? If not, click the link above to see if it is playing in 3-D anywhere near you!

Did you get to see films like "Star Wars: Episode III", "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride", "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", and now "Chicken Little", on a big screen projected digitally?

You are going to be AMAZED what your local multiplex is going to offer - hopefully in the next five years.

The days of dust, jitter, grain, lack of detail and faint colors should be long over by now. Movie Theaters with all Digital screens is the way to go.

"Chicken Little" itself was not very satisfying (Zack Braff rocks!). Disney needs to get back with it. However, the new 3-D effect is quite good. The DLP digital projection was just beautiful. We had to drive an hour away just to to see it in digital 3-D. It was of course playing at a regular theater 1 minute away. This new 3-D digital technology was so amazing that it totally made it worth the drive. See it again if you have to - but see it in 3-D.

Switching gears - I have to say that most movies I've seen this year have majorly sucked.

I am however very much looking forward to "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"! Watch for that November 18! Also, "King Kong" looks promising. Jack Black usually rules.

Back to the normal scheduled program - a slight DVD review.

"Sahara" wasn't all that bad of a movie. A lazy afternoon Sunday fun ride (aka don't take seriously). I like Steve Zahn and Matthew McConaughey. But ultimately it lost my attention when "Sweet Home Alabama" freakin started playing!!!!

As far as everyone's questions about the future of this site, this year's long vacation, and other things -- well, we will just have to see, won't we. :)
