On July 31, 2001 Disney sent out a special satellite feed to promote the upcoming "Snow White" DVD coming October 9th, 2001. In this special broadcast, Barbra Streisand performed the famous "Some Day My Prince Will Come". Our own Len Martin watched the broadcast and here is his report:
The special opened up by announcing that this was promotional material for the DVD release of "Snow White" on Oct. 9, 2001.
Mr. Eisner, seated in a chair with a Snow White poster in the background and Snow White figurines on a table next to him, began to elaborate how Walt Disney always considered music very important in his films and in "Snow White" he found the perfect song in "Someday My Prince Will Come". He then introduced Barbra Streisand singing her rendition of "Someday My Prince Will Come" over a montage of Snow White clips.
That was it.
This reviewer could not stand to listen to a timeless classic sung this way, so he cut the sound off.
It appears that this segment was made for and will be included on the DVD when it is released...
