JUDGEMENT NIGHT
Reviewed October 17th, 1999 by Staff

Judgement Night starring Emilio Estevez and Denis Leary has finally arrived on DVD. A unique movie about a boys night out that turns sour. Emilio Estevez joins his brother and two friends for a night out. The four plan to take in a night of boxing, but traffic prevents them from getting to the arena. A shortcut leads to the group fending for their life. Will they make it through the night? A great movie that really address those fears of how we would react when our lives are put on the line.

The video was transferred at an anamorphic transfer ratio of 1.78:1, as presented in its original theatrical release. While a rather recent movie, 1993, the transfer was spotted and grainy. Definitely not something to show off your kick butt DVD system with. The transfer is better then VHS, but not up to specs with what DVD has to offer!

The audio is presented in Dolby Surround or Dolby Prologic if you have an older Prologic system. Your sub will not be pounding, and you won’t be engulfed in a fully active 3d audio field, but overall better then VHS.

The only extra you are offered is some production notes. Very disappointing, but what do you expect from a company called Good Times. Overall not a bad movie and the video and audio is barely tolerable! So if you can find this movie for under 10 dollars or if you are a big fan of the movie, jump on it! Otherwise, save your money for a better movie, with a proper transfer and audio track, as well as, a slew of extras!
