NEGOTIATOR, THE
Reviewed June 18th, 1999 by Staff

What do you get when you take two hot actors: Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson and put the in a action movie? You get a GREAT action movie.

The Negotiator is about a police officer who get's framed for killing his partner. He then takes some other people hostage until they can figure out who really did it. This is a tale of action and “who done it”. Will they figure it out in time? Both Jackson and Spacey do a remarkable job in this movie.

The movie is presented on a dual-layered disc and is 2.35:1 widescreen (enhanced for 16x9). Color, contrast, black level and sharpness seem to be dead on. A great transfer from Warner.

Audio is presented in DD 5.1 and puts you right in middle of 360 degrees of action utilizing the use of the spit surrounds. Your sub will also like the workout during some of the more intense moments of the film.

This is an exciting movie and Warner did a great job on this Premiere Collection disc. There are a very few supplements including 39 chapter stops, two documentary featurettes and a trailer. Good movie for the right price.
