A great family movie about Scott Calvin who is a divorced father of a young boy. Scott has his son for christmas when suddenly a twist of events leads a mishap with Santa. The adventure takes off as Scott Calvin falls subject to the Santa Clause. This movie offers a good combination of Laughter, Seriousness, Fun, and absolute Joy. The Video quality definitely does not represent what DVD can offer. The video quality is slightly better then VHS, but nowhere near the quality found in titles like Contact, Fifth Element or Austin Powers. The audio is remarkable better then the vhs version. Santa Clause offers a complete 5.1 mix that uses all channels to surround you sound. This title could really use a special editions, but none the less, is destined to become a holiday classic! One pet peeve is that Disney is adding a premium to their substandard titles, this falls in that group. Lets all hope that Disney learns from their mistakes and takes note of what the consumers really want!
