Story: Marci Eyre, an eager reporter for a college newspaper, is obsessed with aliens and other conspiracy theories. Her small office is cluttered with alien artifacts and alien posters. She continually frustrates her editor with wacky story ideas and a reluctance to cover the local community beat. She tries to convice her editor, Phil, that the couple outside his office are reallty aliens! Phil blows up at her and tells her to stop with these stories and start covering the news on the latest space shuttle launch. While in earth orbit, the shuttle crew are carrying out experiments on a spider by injecting it with alien DNA. When a solar flare hits the spacecraft, the spider, code named “Mother In Law”, gets loose and proceeds to bite the crew, causing them to die a horrible death. Mission control covers up the story, saying that the spaceship had burned up in the atmosphere upon re-entry. Meanwhile, Marci and two of her friends, still on the hunt for aliens, find themselves outside a secret alien lab run by the government, (much like Area 51). Suddenly, the supposedly burnt-up shuttle crashes in front of them. Marci and her friends go to investigate the crash and suddenly government personnel arrive and take the bodies of the shuttle crew away. Naturally, Marci and her friends hide in one of the vehicles and are transported into the secret area. What no one knows is that Mother-in-Law has deposited her eggs in one of the astronaut's bodies, and when it hatches, it will become larger and seek more victims.

Comments: If you enjoy the old '50s horror and science fiction film, then this is the movie for you. As the producer states, he grew up on those old films and this is his homage to them, cheesy and campy as it may be. Sit back and relax and forget logic, enjoy the movie.
